Re: Best Moisture Content of Feedstock before immersion in Extraction Media?

This is a subject of some disagreement among DIY-NET aficionados. I, personally, like to evaporate as much of the moisture content out of the leaf as possible before I submerse it into the extraction media. i do that whether the media is Alcohol, PG, VG or whatever. I do this by just spreading the l...

Re: Best Cigars for Extraction

My first try at this is with a cigar that is a Nicaraguan puro that is mostly ligero, so pretty far away from mild tobacco,(...) which i'm enjoying at only 10% in a finished mix. At this point i'm wondering whether to filter the batch or not. If the flavor profile is going to stay the same and sitt...

Re: Best Cigars for Extraction

.. or was it more along the lines of I tried a bunch and these came out better than average? Do the extracts you make from these two cigars remind you at all of their profiles when smoking them? I posted those two for a recommendation to the first time cigar extractor / experimenter so that he migh...

Re: Pure Leaf Varietals

Sadly, this leaf didn’t come close to Peter’s Brightleaf Virginia Flue Cured - Sweet, of which, Peter was so kind to send me a sample. Maybe it was his maceration method which resulted in such a favorable outcome? Looks like I may have to send him a gram of the Lemon Leaf and let him run his method...

Re: The Purge

Then there's the H2O extracts. I dumped all of those over safety concerns. (..) I probably ended up dumping over a pint of concentrated extracts. Very painful. Yes, I did not include our extensive experiments with the H2O. When the extracts are part of an intended "experimentation" (as in charting ...

Re: The Purge

I am very glad you brought this subject up. I would be most interested to hear from others how they handle this "problem". I know there are a lot of lurkers out there that read these posts, but never respond, but in this case I wish everyone with a comment would make a REPLY to this post. (Yes I kno...

Re: Tabac Manil ~ Le Petit Robin

Just acquired 2 bricks of this V. Manil tobacco; 1 for now, another to cellar. If this tobacco is anything like the Manil La Brumeuse which I’ve extracted, I’m in for a real treat Congratulations on a hard bird to find! Please let us know as soon as you can about the flavor profile of this one, par...

Re: Dry Herb Vaporizer With Tobacco vs NET E-Liquid

. Although ultimately I would wonder about whether dry vaping is a less healthy option... I think this has to be the $64 dollar question. But, of course, the taste sensations, mouthfeel, etc is going to be a possible deal breaker. I do not understand how a state like California, where everything is...
