Snus started out being a Swedish thing; eventually, copied across the pond. Here’s a link to what I enjoy.

https://www.generalsnus.com/Products/Original/

Basically, it’s tobacco (+ other ingredients) in a little pouch, easily enjoyed between the cheek and gum. I’m not a “flavored” Snus guy; thus, the Original style for me; at most, it’s a little salty tasting. Sometimes, I switch it up and use the White portions:

I used to chew Red Man pouch tobacco; very tasty, but, not a “spitless” tobacco product. I had to switch over to a spitless tobacco when I found myself in more polite company. The Snus does pack a pretty good nicotine hit for a good 3 hours. I mainly use it when I can’t vape in the general population.

Thanks for the second link.. I tried to go the first link you suggested but it wanted me to register first before it would show me the site. Their registration process kept dumping me out, so guess I will try again later, it told me that 'my information could not be verified',,- whatever that means

I think this is an interesting discussion. To those that might wonder why it is here in this BBS, well we are talking about things tobacco here, so I think it is very relevant. Particularly because it relates to the Nicotine levels in the blood stream. We need to start a thread about percentage levels that we use in the extractions as well.

I might just place a sample order with the second link. The issue that it might help me with is that: I know a lot of us (me included) have a few extractions that we purposely jump the Nicotine level up to about 50% higher than our normal EDV. I know I reach for those when I want the old sensation I used to get from a stout pre-embargo  Puro

I don’t know that particular vendor... so, I can’t speak for their business practices. The link was merely for reading purposes.

General Snus can most likely be purchased at most “7-Eleven/Circle K” type quick mart type places or the local gas station. But, you might be able to find it online to ship to your location.

I am anxious to hear your thoughts on this.

I did something that i know better when researching this subject. That is I went to Wikipedia and read their article about Snus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snus ...Of course using WikiP as a source of acurate information is a fools mission, but they did point out something that I have heard before: That is that the true Swedish Snus is a very particular product, produced under some exacting standards and procedures. Like the famous and well understood history of Cuba Cigars, many tobacco products have lived their lives down a tortuous road from creation to death and eventually are subverted from the original, now no longer recognizable.

So I am cautious about buying and sourcing the products. Most likely counterfiters are rampant. Here is a quote from the WikiP article that caught my eye :
Most Scandinavian snus is produced in Sweden and regulated as food under the Swedish Food Act.[9] Many Swedish manufacturers have even implemented their own quality standards on top of the already very stringent regulations for food products, in order to ensure quality. The most commonly known for this is of course GOTHIATEK by Swedish Match - a quality control system that follows each production from seed to finished can.
Another point they make is that what is available here in USA is most likely not Swedish Snus. To save me some time: you mention the corner gas station. Is wikiP wrong on that, have you actually had good luck at the 7-Eleven?

So yet another trip into the looking glass. Tobacco is odd that way

Here is the killer quote from the WikiP article:
American snus, available since the late 1990s, is similar to the Scandinavian form, but usually has a lower moisture content and lower pH, resulting in lower bioavailability of nicotine than Scandinavian varieties, meaning less is available for absorption.[10] American snus is often flavored, e.g., with spearmint, wintergreen, vanilla or fruit (e.g. cherry), and may contain sugar. This means that American snus has, unlike Swedish snus, hardly any tobacco flavor at all and the flavoring agents used are intense with an often overbearingly sweet after-taste.
Kind of like RY4, just another flavor joke that Americans seem to never tire of.

It turns out that snus has an amazing blizzard of controvery surrounding it, for example it has been banned throughout the EU – but the product is hardly innovative, having been developed 200 years ago. All the recent clinical evidence not only underlines its relative safety, but snus is also credited with plummeting smoking rates in Sweden and Norway and a gold standard decline in smoking-related disease compared to the rest of the EU.

I guess I’m gonna have to have faith that my General Snus is manufactured in Sweden, shipped to the US, and distributed by Swedish Match; that’s what the label on the package states at any rate

Swedish Match is quite militant about the storage of their product in stores. Any time that I have picked up my cans of G Snus from a local source, the Snus is always stored in a refrigerated container. I find that comforting. If they didn’t care about their product, they wouldn’t go to the trouble of proper storage of the product prior to the sale.

I’ve researched ordering the product online from overseas. Even though the product is less expensive online, there’s no savings after paying shipping. Thus, buying it from a local vendor in the US is my move; the cost per can is the same.

I’ve also researched making DIY snus. However, the issue for me is that I’ve never liked loose Snus in my mouth. Having the product in a little manageable disposable pouch is preferred.

From various Financial Press sources:
==============================
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Swedish Match reported slightly lower than forecast quarterly operating earnings on Wednesday, and said it expected continued rapid growth of the nicotine pouches market in 2021.

The Swedish company’s biggest businesses are moist snuff -“snus” in Scandinavia - and cigars in the United States, although sales of its tobacco-free nicotine pouches, ZYN, are growing at a rapid pace.

Fourth-quarter operating profit at Swedish Match rose to 1.65 billion Swedish crowns ($198.43 million) from 1.10 billion a year earlier, lagging the 1.73 billion average analyst forecast according to data from Refinitiv.
Sales in the quarter amounted to 4.14 billion crowns, up 5% from a year earlier, and roughly in line with the 4.11 billion analyst forecast.
The company said the development for ZYN in the United States was a major growth driver in the quarter.

“For 2021, Swedish Match expects continued market growth for smoke-free products, most notably driven by rapid growth of nicotine pouches,” it said in a statement.

I agree, i think the DIY route is the way to go, at least for us 'tobacco snob' types. I have been cruz'in around the usual internet sources of information in todays world and came across a very sophisticated and well developed YouTube and Web site that has been immersed for over 12 years in the world of aficionado Snus. To admit to you that I really do live under a rock, I am, well, I didn't even know there was such a thing as 'Snus aficionados' . Here are a couple of their links: http://snubie.com & his UTube at: https://www.youtube.com/user/SnubieDotCom

But, now the downside, and the reason for DIY: Like our friends in the Vape World, they have gravitated in their journey away from the start point, which, is of course, Natural Leaf Tobacco, and wound up down the rabbit hole of artificial flavor chemistry:

Consider the following list from the above mentioned website of his 'favorite picks'. I will pose the obvious rhetorical question. "As you look over this list, where Is The Tobacco?"
